Good coffee, pretty fast shipping

I got some Kenya AA Coffee a few weeks ago. It was good, tasted fresh. Shipping took about 4 days to get to me, which was fine. I'd probably order again sometime.

Fresh beans, easy process

I decided to try their Sumatra Mandheling Coffee, opting for the whole bean option. The ordering process on their website was straightforward and I didn't run into any snags. The coffee arrived in 5 days, well within their stated shipping times, and the package was sealed properly. Upon opening, the beans smelled really fresh, which is always a good sign for specialty coffee. I used them for pour-over, and the flavor was rich and earthy, exactly what I look for in a Sumatran. I haven't had to contact customer support, so I can't speak to that, but based on the product quality and delivery, it was a good experience overall. I'd definitely consider other varieties from them.

Consistently good quality

I've bought from Volcanica a few times now, and they're pretty consistent. This time I picked up a bag of their Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Coffee, whole bean. It was just as fresh and flavorful as my previous orders. I appreciate that the quality hasn't dipped. Their shipping is usually reliable too; this one showed up in 5 days, which is standard for them in my experience. That's why I keep coming back for more.

Decent coffee, minor shipping delay

I ordered the Costa Rica Peaberry Coffee and it arrived well-packaged. The coffee itself was quite good, a pleasant aroma and taste. My only minor issue was that the delivery took 6 days to reach Denver, a little longer than I expected, though it wasn't a huge deal. Overall, a solid purchase for the price.

Hey, anyone know how fresh the coffee actually is when it gets to you? Like, is it roasted to order or just sitting around?

A Anthony Scott 4 weeks ago
From what I remember, they roast it pretty much right before shipping. I usually get mine within a few days of roasting, super fresh.

S Sofia Garcia 4 weeks ago
yeah mine always smells amazing when I open the bag, definitely not stale.

Comparing Volcanica to like, Blue Bottle or Intelligentsia. Is it really worth the price difference for the exotic beans?

L Laura Jackson 1 week ago
I'd say it depends what you're after. Volcanica has some really unique origins you won't find at Blue Bottle, like the Yemen Mocha. For everyday, maybe not, but for special occasion beans, totally.

Yeah, I think Volcanica really shines with their single origins and rare stuff. If you're into trying different flavor profiles from specific regions, they're definitely a step up from the more common brands.

Can you actually use more than one coupon code on an order? Got a first-time discount but also saw a free shipping code.

J Josh 1 week ago
Nah, pretty sure it's only one code per order. Tried it before and it didn't work for me.

M Megan Thomas 1 week ago
Most places are like that. Pick the best one, usually the percentage off is better than free shipping unless it's a huge order.

I'm signing up for a subscription. Do I automatically get a discount or do I need a code for that too?

R Rachel Lopez 6 days ago
Subscription discounts are usually automatic, no code needed. It just applies to your recurring orders.

J Jennifer 5 days ago
Yeah, it should just show up in your cart when you set up the subscription. Mine always has.

I'm thinking of trying the Costa Rica Peaberry, but I live in Seattle. How long does shipping usually take to the West Coast?

J Jeff L. 3 weeks ago
For me in California, it's usually about 3-5 business days. Depends on the shipping option you pick I guess.

J Justin M. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I'm in Oregon and it's usually pretty quick, like under a week. Never had an issue with it taking too long.

Is there a military discount available? My husband is active duty and we're always looking for good coffee.

L Leah Wright 3 weeks ago
I think I saw something about a military discount on their site when I was signing up for an account. You might need to verify through ID.me or something.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do. Check the bottom of their homepage or the FAQ section, I vaguely remember seeing it there.

What's the deal with their return policy? What if I try a bag and just don't like the flavor, can I send it back?

E Elizabeth 3 weeks ago
I returned a grinder once, and it was super easy. For coffee, I think it's more if there's a quality issue, not just personal taste, but you'd have to check their exact policy.

S Sofia 3 weeks ago
Pretty sure most food items are hard to return just because you don't like the taste. Maybe reach out to their customer service? They're usually helpful.

Does anyone know if their low-acid coffees actually taste good? I usually stick to regular but my stomach hates me now.

M Mary Allen 4 weeks ago
I've tried a few of their low-acid ones, like the Decaf Costa Rica Tarrazu, and they're surprisingly good. Not as much bite but still flavorful.

S Susan Perez 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I had the Organic Honduras low-acid and it was pretty smooth. Worth a shot if you're sensitive.
